Meet Amber: Why I Do What I Do
I still remember the moment everything changed for me.
I was in OT school when my sister had her first baby. After a long, exhausting induction, she ended up with an emergency C-section. Updates were sparse, and by the time I was allowed to visit, I found her pale, bleeding, and struggling just to move in her hospital bed.
I looked around the room and thought,
“Who is going to help her?”
That question lit a fire in me. My sister had just gone through major abdominal surgery, and yet the care she received was essentially, “Good luck! Here’s your baby.” No one was telling her how to move without pain, how to protect her healing body, or what recovery should look like.
At that moment, I knew I never wanted another mom to feel abandoned like she did.
Here’s a picture of me doing what I do best, educating on sustainable pelvic floor health.
My Journey to Pelvic Health
Before becoming a pelvic floor therapist, I spent 14 years as a park ranger and educator, working everywhere from Oregon’s Mt. Hood to the Everglades, Alaska’s Denali National Park, and even the Amazon jungle. My passion back then was helping people feel confident in unfamiliar environments — guiding them, teaching them, and making sure they never felt alone.
That same passion drives my work today. Only now, instead of guiding people through forests and rivers, I help women navigate the uncharted territory of postpartum recovery and pelvic health.
I’ve worked in acute care occupational therapy, built hospital-based programs specifically for new moms, and supported women within days of birth so they could begin healing sooner.
Today, I focus on sustainable pelvic health — not just quick fixes, but long-term recovery and empowerment that lasts well beyond our sessions.
I have a long history of helping women, just like you, get the care they deserve as well as teaching other pelvic health professionals how to best care for their clients in a way that is not only holistic but sustainable.
What It’s Like to Work With Me
When you come to me, you’re not just another appointment on the schedule. You’re a whole person — a mom, a partner, a woman with goals and fears, joys and frustrations.
That’s why our sessions are a full hour long. We slow down, listen, and tailor every piece of your care to your body, your life, and your goals.
Together, we’ll:
Address the physical realities of postpartum: leaking when you laugh, hip and pelvic pain, intimacy that doesn’t feel the same.
Calm and work with your nervous system — not against it.
Create a recovery plan that actually fits your life.
Celebrate every win, no matter how small, from lifting your baby without pain to reclaiming joy in your body again.
This isn’t a cookie-cutter treatment. It’s a partnership — a safe space to ask the awkward questions no one warned you about and to find the support you deserve.
“I believe moms deserve better.” -Amber
Why This Matters
I became a pelvic floor therapist because I believe moms deserve better. Better care, better support, and better healing. You don’t have to accept pain, leaking, or the quiet fear that this is your “new normal.”
I’ll be honest: postpartum recovery isn’t always easy. But with compassion, education, and consistent support, it is possible. And I’ll be with you every step of the way — just like I wish someone had been there for my sister.
Let’s Walk This Journey Together
